Universal Colors is a privately held corporation, founded in 1999 by Roda Ward Carter. Skin care products were introduced to the public for the first time to a private group of 700 guests aboard the Royal Caribbean’s Voyager of the Seas in July of 2000 and were made available to the public in December of that year. Foundations and Lip/Face Colors were introduced in May 2001. The company is wholly owned by the President and CEO, Roda Ward Carter and Rodney E. Carter, who serves as Vice President.

The Universal Colors vision is to introduce a spa quality skin care line enriched with natural ingredients without harsh detergents or chemicals, attractively packaged for home or professional use. The result is products that drastically improve and enhance the appearance of all skin shades with various ailments such as discoloration and fine lines and wrinkles. It is gentle towards sensitive skin and is extremely beneficial to acne prone skin. Universal Colors skin care is environmentally friendly and is not tested on animals.
